Weeks 1 & 2
Well we have had our first 'normal' school week this term. Tuesday's aftershock was certainly eventful but Room 6 handled themselves extremely well. One minute they were sitting at their desks finding out about their reading activities and the next they were under their desks. They new exactly what to do and did not hesitate - I did. I was a couple of seconds behind them. I'm sure it must be an age thing! Well done Room 6.
Art Attack Week 1
We had a very exciting Art Attack week. Room 6 students had a great week creating a variety of art. All this of course culminated in the art display last Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. If you were not able to attend, the Room 6 art pieces that were on display are now on display in our classroom so feel free to come and have a look at their wonderful creations.

Athletics

Today was athletics day and we participated in field events and track events.
The seniors and juniors all participated in the sprints,50m, 60m, 8Om, 100m
and 200m. The field events were shotput, discus and long jump. The seniors
also participated in high jump and the juniors in hurdles. At the end of the day
after lunch, Red House came 1st by an inch then Green, then Yellow and last but
not least Blue. I still think Yellow House should have come 1st. Then it was the
Parent, teacher and House Captain relay. The parents came first and then
the teachers, the House Captains came in a close 3rd. Everyone had a great
day and just a few injuries occurred. Good luck to those going to zones!
